For very high-level training, the new "Systèmes de transports ferroviaires et guidés" master's degree program welcomes the future managers and engineers of the railway world starting September 2008. Signaling a true university innovation, the new "Systèmes de transports ferroviaires et guidés" Masters degree program has been created in collaboration with transport companies, who are always eager for new experts trained at specialised schools, and engineering grandes écoles. With this new curriculum, professionals are supporting education that is adapted to present-day needs: sustainable development, decentralisation of transport policies, climate change, institutional change, etc. The Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées in Marne-la-Vallée, the ENSIAME in Valenciennes, and SNCF International initiated this project in partnership notably with the RATP and the Réseau Ferré de France. Aimed at young engineers wanting to specialise, older workers who want to move into a new type of employment, and managers in the railway sector both in France and abroad, this Masters degree will touch on all the angles of passenger and freight transport. From the design and operation of systems to mastering markets, the knowledge disseminated will focus on both technical and economical aspects as well as institutional and organization aspects. The Ecole Centrale de Paris, the Ecole Centrale de Lille, the Ecole Nationale des Travaux Publics de l'Etat, and the UTC de Compiègne have all joined in. In addition to the RATP and the SNCF, professional partners who will take part in the curriculum include Alstom, Ansaldo-STS, Bombardier, and Siemens. |
